FIT TESTING

DORMA RESPIRATORS

As respirators, the Dorma 99 and Dorma 95 must be fit tested before use in an occupational setting. Fit tests may be qualitative or quantitative. OSHA accepted fit test protocols are recommended for fit testing this respirator. Learn more about fit testing below.

THE STANDARDS

Before occupational use of this respirator, a written respiratory protection program must be implemented meeting all the local government requirements. Select and use respirator in accordance with all applicable regulations, standards and professional guidance.

In Canada, CSA standard Z94.4 requirements must be met. In the United States, employers must comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 which includes medical evaluation, training, and fit testing.

QUALITATIVE

FIT TESTING

We recommend using qualitative fit testing methods as they do not require piercing the masks.
Qualitative fit testing protocol consists of two parts: a Threshold Check and a Fit Test.
A medical evaluation to assess the ability to wear a respirator should be conducted prior to fit testing or respirator use.

THRESHOLD CHECK

A medical evaluation to assess the ability to wear a respirator should be conducted prior to fit testing or respirator use.

FIT TEST

The Fit Test uses the full strength solution to verify that the wearer can achieve an acceptable facial fit with the respirator.

REMEMBER:

Multiple approved fit testing kits are available on the market.

Please follow the same fit testing procedures for all Dorma Masks users.

Fit testing and keeping track of these fit tests is an important tool in keeping your employees healthy and safe from various hazards.
